The Father Ed link is considered the creator of the first flight simulation devices.d Ed's dad was an organ builder and as a young boy Ed worked in the shop where he developed a knowledge of pneumatic devices. Ed got the great idea to build a flight training device after he witnessed a crash at an air show. By today's standards Ed's device looks like a pony ride in front of the grocery store, but back then he was even able to sell it as far away as Japan where it was unwittingly used to train Pearl Harbor pilots. |
