The CALI Trophy Challenge is a navigational event. Courses will consist of several checkpoints throughout Cow Mountain BLM park. Participants will be required to cover all points retrieving a signature or item to verify checkpoint passing. Once all checkpoints have been completed they will return to a finish area and mileage will be recorded. The participants to complete the course in the shortest mileage will score the highest point values for that stage.

Special challenges will be held between stages requiring participants to perform certain tasks common with the off road environment.

Stage one will be held in the daylight hours, Special Challenges will commence once all have completed Stage one. Stage two will be held starting at dusk and will consist of a fewer number of checkpoints than Stage one making for a shorter course.
